This is the first guitar for which I have used wood from the spruce tree I cut in 2017 in the Austrian Alps (blog, pictures, video clip). Its wood certainly yields exceptional sound qualities. Maybe these are simply a property of this specific wood, but I like to think that they rather evolved from my relationship with this tree. And in any case, the finished soundboard, as the complete instrument, is the result of hundreds of personal, subjective decisions - thus my personality becomes a part, albeit a non-material, of the instrument.
